1. As a child, Searle had a morbid fear of spiders. This is interesting to note when one considers that a spider is among the many things to which he compares Elarys.

2. Apart from Riona, the only sibling Searle is at all close to is his older sister Lileina. As a boy, he was a page to her husband, so she was the only one he regularly saw as he was growing up.

3. Every once in a while, Searle becomes so consumed by his demons that he forgets the basic facts of his existence--his birthday, the name of his parents, etcetera. There are times when his world is literally comprised of Riona and Riona alone.

4. Searle carries around a crude little drawing done by his daughter with Danthia, Tivalia. He sometimes looks at it when he has a moment alone, even though it tends to bring his guilt to the surface.

5. Though he has never shown his work to anyone, Searle has an incredible talent for writing lyrics.

6. Few people have more love in them than Searle. Fewer still tend to make poorer choices (for lack of a better word) of outlets for said love.

7. Despite the adult nature of his life and troubles, the person with whom Searle feels the most open was always Viridis, even when she was young.
