Halford, born in 1129, is a pig farmer currently living in Armion, Naroni. In addition to earning a living by selling pigs to the local butchers--which he claims to do so that they can kill them in whichever way they deem best for preserving to meat, though it is secretly because he doesn't have the heart to kill them himself--he often runs errands for his wife, Arydath, resident midwife and amateur healer.
Halford grew up on a farm in Sarona, Dovia. Arydath, six years his junior, grew up on the neighboring farm. From a young age, the two enjoyed humiliating each other with whatever pranks they could cook up, likely as a means of concealing their romantic feelings for one another. One day in the spring of 1154, Arydath stole away to the loft of Halford's barn, where she seduced him. The next month, she told him untruthfully that she was pregnant, hoping to get a rise out of him. However, her prank backfired when her mother overheard and marched the pair to the church that very hour.
After the wedding, Halford learned that Arydath was not actually pregnant, but he found himself unaffected by the joke as he realized then that there was no one else he would rather have married and that he truly did love her. The pair then decided to run off and leave the kingdom, which led to their accompaniment of Prince Roderick's party to Naroni in 1155.
Their firstborn, a daughter named Lyraina, was born in December of 1155. A son, Cordieth, was then born in August of 1157, and another daughter, Hilla, followed in April of 1159. Their second son, Medur, was born in July of 1165. Lastly, they had twin daughters, Celina and Feoda, in November of 1166.
Halford died as a result of cardiomyopathy in 1168.
