1. Laureina and Seoth are joint owners of the inn. She doesn't consider herself to be his inferior, nor does he think of her as such. Their marriage is very much a partnership.

2. She is Seoth's stepsister via her father and his mother. Laureina's mother died giving birth to her and her father raised her on his own until she was nine, when Seoth and his widowed mother relocated from Bandera to Laureina's village in Luperia.
