1. In spite of their differences, Ietrin is very close to his brother Searle.

2. He is curious about their mother. He writes her often and spent much of his time at the Naroni Royal Wedding following after her.

1. Searle used to enjoy sitting in front of fires late at night, but after his health began to decline, he stopped, dismissing it as a waste of the little time he had. He started up again after he recovered.

2. He never reads his mother's letters. He keeps them in a wooden box in the back of one of his drawers. More than once, he's taken them out to burn them, but he's never been able to take that last step.

Karlspan (1129-1158) was Geneva's older brother, the Earl of Bandera, and Laralita Sadiel's first husband. He died in September of 1158 following a long battle with tuberculosis. He was reputed as a very kind man, loved by all. Though weak in body, Karlspan was strong in spirit, and he is sorely missed by all who knew him.

1. The first man Geneva ever slept with was... Tarien! She was ten at the time. He was twelve. As the years went by, she sort of lost track of her sexual encounters and which ones happened when; Tarien, however, kind of suspects that he might have been her first.
